Bringing great music to the Kingwood/Humble/Atascocita area
Kathleen Hennessey Mohn began studying the violin at the age of 5 in Odessa, Texas in one of the first Suzuki method classes taught in the United States. Her teacher, Dorothy Croft, learned the Suzuki method from Mr. Suzuki in Japan. Kathleen continued to study under Mrs. Croft through high school during which time, Kathleen attended Ivan Galamian's Meadowmount Summer School in upstate New York where she studied with Margaret Pardee of Julliard. As a member of the Midland-Odessa Symphony, Kathleen was privileged to perform with such notable musicians as Benny Goodman, Dave Bruebeck, Chet Atkins, the One O'clock Lab Band and many others. While a music education major at the University of North Texas, she studied with Robert Davidovici. In 2005, Kathleen established the Dorothy Croft Memorial Trust for Music Students and is privileged to work with Dorothy's daughter, Dona Lee Croft, of the Royal College of Music in London and with other former students to raise funds for violin scholarships.
